Pretty glad I installed that SP3 update to Windows XP. Now it’s mysteriously taking up almost 7 gigs of space and I can’t watch Netflix Instant Play movies any more because there’s “not enough disk space.”

YOU WIN AGAIN, WINDOWS! I CAN’T WAIT TO WASTE TIME REINSTALLING YOU FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME!

[Edit: I Googled and found a way to uninstall SP3. I got back 1 gig of space, which was all I needed.]

Last night’s SNL was pretty decent. This SPACE OLYMPICS video was especially awesome.

The response to my earlier post about scaling community support has been great. I never imagined so many people would email with such genuine interest. Thank you, Internet buddies, for caring about me.
Gov. Sarah Palin lives by the maxim that all politics is local, not to mention personal. So when there was a vacancy at the top of the State Division of Agriculture, she appointed a high school classmate, Franci Havemeister, to the $95,000-a-year directorship. A former real estate agent, Ms. Havemeister cited her childhood love of cows as a qualification for running the roughly $2 million agency. Ms. Havemeister was one of at least five schoolmates Ms. Palin hired, often at salaries far exceeding their private sector wages. When Ms. Palin had to cut her first state budget, she avoided the legion of frustrated legislators and mayors. Instead, she huddled with her budget director and her husband, Todd, an oil field worker who is not a state employee, and vetoed millions of dollars of legislative projects.

Why isn’t the mainstream media covering this?

You’ve gotta give them credit though. The car didn’t blow away during hurricane Ike. For that matter, neither did the tree. Genius!

I tried to set up a casual meeting with Heather Champ, Flickr’s Community Manager, by going through another high-level Flickr employee, but either she is too busy or I am just nowhere near her radar, which isn’t really surprising. [Update: Heather contacted me. Apparently she attempted to reach me before, but her message never made it to me. She is top-notch.]

As Vimeo grows and diversifies its offerings, I don’t want to make a bunch of first-timer mistakes as I scale the community support division. Not when so many other people have done this before me and could help me avoid unnecessary problems.

I don’t think this is something you can just buy a book on. What resources can I access that will keep me on the right track? I have a few ideas, but if anyone has ideas of their own, feel free to email me. dalas at vimeo.com

“The Jonas Brothers are said to have insisted on apple juice at room temperature for their backstage needs and added eight Red Bull Sugar free beverages, plus 6 regular Red Bulls and 24 pieces of California sushi rolls as part of their dressing room package.”

from an article here

Come on!! The Jonas Brothers requested 8 sugar free RB’s and 6 regulars???? Not true! That’s FRANKIE J’S hype juice for before the show!

I cool down with another 5 sugar free’s after the show. Too much sugar is bad for you, you know?

I don’t know why my bros like sushi. It tastes like they just took a fish out of the sea and put it on top of rice!

This should convice all you doubters that this is the REAL Frankie J right here.
